Takko Lacquer Summer 2015 Collection Part 2

Hey guys and gals! Today I have the second part of the new Takko Lacquer summer collection! On Monday, I showed you all the neons and bright of the bunch, and now I have a nude, a pastel and a jelly, oh my!

I also have for review the new Takko Lacquer top coat! Since all takkitos are now infused with Vitamin E, they dry down to a satin finish, and need to be topped with a glossy top coat to bring out the beauty of the polish. Sugar High is a high shine scented top coat give all takkitos that glossy finish!

Twinsie Tuesday: Match Your Nails To Your Purse

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Mine was actually kind of boring, but I got a new book - Red Rising - that totally made the weekend worth it. It is sooooo good! Okay, enough book talk. 

Since today is Tuesday, I have my portion of the Twinsie Tuesday theme post. This week we are matching our nails to our purses. I am not really a "purse" person. I carry one more out of necessity than fashion. In fact, it is a pretty boring purse. But my wallet is way cute and worthy of being the inspiration for some nail art!

Hello friends! Another Tuesday has come around and this week, for the Twinsie Tuesday theme, is Classic! I immediately thought of a dotticure - a classic nail art look and keeping with the theme, I went with a classic color combination.

Essie Cocktails And Coconuts - Spring/Summer Color Trend

Hey everyone! After a crazy week, I was finally able to get a post written up for you guys. Today I have more Fashion Friday goodness with another Spring/Summer Color Trend polish!

Among the soft pastels and vivid brights, Pantone mixed in a couple of neutrals for this season's color palette. Sand is a perfect neutral contrast for the bright colors. Essie's Cocktails & Coconuts from the Resort Fling collection is my new favorite nude, and a fantastic "sand" shade.

Essie Cocktails & Coconuts (Resort Fling Collection 2014)

Cocktails & Coconuts is a nude cream with Essie's signature shimmer - as seen in the Summer 2013 collection. It is rather hard to capture the shimmer in the nude base digitally, but it sparkles quite nicely in person. The color is fantastic, very clean and sophisticated. It is definitely going to be my go-to nude this season. Formula was really good as well. In the past, Essie's softer shades have had problematic formulas, more often than not. But this was two easy coats!

Despite my affinity for the brighter colors, I love a good neutral. I think this is as close to perfect as a neutral can get, for me personally. And I am particularly fond of the shimmer!

The Essie Resort Fling collection, precedes the spring collection, so this polish may be a bit harder to find in stores, but it is widely available on line via Amazon and the like.

O.P.I. Don't Bossa Nova Me Around

Hey y'all! Today, I have another shade from the O.P.I. Brazil collection for spring and summer 2014. Like I have said, in previous posts, this collection has been a big hit with me, and I love just about every color. While most of them fall into the "Color Trend" category, and as such, those swatches will be posted on Fridays as part of that series. Don't Bossa Nova Me Around doesn't fit, but I still wanted to share my thoughts and review, because this is definitely a polish to get!

O.P.I. Don't Bossa Nova Me Around

Don't Bossa Nova Me Around is a shell pink nude cream. It is pastel without the chalkiness. The color is soft and chic, very feminine. Totally not a color that I would normally ever wear, but I find myself really drawn to this dreamy shade. Formula was stellar, with two easy coats for full coverage.

Don't Bossa Nova Me Around pretty much covers all the polish bases. It is perfect for spring, universally flattering, and a great wear-to-work color. Also, this would be my choice for a spring time bridal manicure. I can easily see it becoming part of my nail art polishes, as well. I'm kind of in love!

Essie Luxeffect Jazzy Jubilant

Hey y'all, hope everyone is having a great week! It has been nice getting back to my normal routine and having some time to myself during the day to do blog stuff and watch awesome tv. My current fav is a BBC show called Misfits. It is hilarious! But enough about my tv habits, I have a new glitter topper that is super pretty!

Essie Luxeffects - Jazzy Jubilant over O.P.I - Glints Of Glinda

Jazzy Jubilant is a glitter topper in a clear base. The glitters consist of small silver, purple and teal hex glitters as well as green and red micro glitters. Essie re-released the Luxeffect toppers this holiday season along with two new polishes, one being Jazzy Jubilant. I was on the fence about this one for a while, but I am really glad that I caved and got it! It is a really pretty mix and something a little special, I think. The formula was a little thin for glitter, it took a bit of dabbing to get good coverage. Other than that it is a great addition, and I love how it looks over the squishy nude Glints Of Glinda!

Yep, definitely a great combo. I  wasn't able to wear it as long as I wanted to, such is the life of a polish blogger! But I will be doing it again soon, for sure!

You might still be able to find a bottle or two in a Luxeffect display, and hopefully Essie will add it to their permanent line along with the older Luxeffect polishes.

Cult Nails Mazo & Baker

Hey friends! Hope you all are having a great week! I am desperately trying to play catch-up, as well as plan for some fun stuff in December! I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week, and Christmas shortly after. What a whirlwind year this has been for me!

 

I have a couple of Cult Nails lovelies to share with you guys, today. I have been on a huge teal kick lately, and decided to revisit Cult Nails Let Me Fly. And even though, I said I wouldn't, I went and bought two more colors. But in my defense, they are discounted, so there. Despite my overall underwhelming experiences, I still lust after some colors, and Baker is one I have eyed several times. I am a sucker for golden shimmers. Once I saw that Baker was discounted, I went and added Mazo to my cart as well; just in case Baker was to warm for my skin tone. And, because, I have no self control.

Cult Nails Mazo

 

Mazo is a very sheer pale nude with golden shimmer. There are also copper and green shimmery bits added to the mix. Sigh. The color is so dreamy, I love it. From my past experience, I knew that the formula was going to be thin, and with that knowledge, I was able to manipulate it to my liking. This one is super sheer, I ended up with four thinner coats. But it looks very pretty with just one coat as well, giving just a whisper of shimmer.

Cult Nails Baker

 

Baker is a warm toffee colored nude with golden shimmer. I totally get what everyone was going crazy for. This is gorgeous. While it is very warm, it looks good with my skin tone.  Same thin formula, sheer, but not so much as Mazo. This is three thinner coats. If the base was a bit thicker, I could have gotten away with 2.

 

 

 

I stick by my original assessment of Cult Nails. The polishes are just too thin for my preference. But now, at least, I am able to use them without issue. I am definitely not one of the "Culties" but I can appreciate a good color!
