China Glaze Cirque du Soliel Collection

Hey all! Hope all you American readers had a great Thanksgiving & everyone else had a great Thursday! Today I have three polishes from the new China Glaze collection inspired by the Cirque du Soliel movie "Worlds Away. "

China Glaze - It's a Trap-eaze

It's a Trap-eaze is a fabulous milky white polish loaded with multi sized rainbow glitter. I am such a sucker for milky glitters, and this one is my absolute fav, hands down. Looking at the swatch pictures actually makes want to go put it on again! Formula was a little tricky mainly because of the amount of glitter packed in the bottle. 2 coats and a nice thick top coat evened everything out perfectly though.

China Glaze - Surreal Appeal

Surreal Appeal is a "nearly" neon pink coral cream. I say "nearly" because it doesn't dry matte, but very glossy. It was much more bright and pigmented than the bottle. I have been looking for a good coral, and at first I was let down because this is very pink, but ended up really liking it after I wore it for a little while. Formula was a bit on the thin side, so make sure you go easy with your application to avoid pooling. Despite the thin formula, it only took 2 coats for full coverage.

China Glaze - Water You Waiting For over Julep Hoch

Water You Waiting For is a sheer blue base with blue, green and purple multi sized glitters. It is a pretty dense polish and could be built up on it's own with out undies, but I was already wearing Hoch & was too lazy to take it off! >_<  I think they look really well together! Yay teal! Since WYWF is a total glitter bomb, I expected to have a much more difficult time applying, but it wasn't as bad. It does tend to get a tiny bit clumpy, if you are slower with it, but nothing too major.

I really dig the glitters from this collection & some of the other brights are definitely on my to buy list!

My Favorite Polish: Part 3 (Shimmers/Sparkles)

Aside from heavy glitters, I do love a good shimmer polish. Sometimes, a nice glow is just as pretty as a reflective sparkle.

China Glaze - Fast Track (Colors from the Capitol Collection)

So, this color is from the collection inspired by the Hunger Games book trilogy/movie franchise. I am a huge fan of both & had to get a few of the polishes from the set. This color is my favorite. A nude taupe base with a shimmery pale gold glitter. Not too much, not too flashy, simple and lovely. I really like all the colors I picked up, but this one seems a little more elegant and understated.

Great formula, goes on very nice & full coverage with 3 coats. The brush is a bit on the long side & can cause random drips from time to time.

Nicole by OPI - Purple Yourself Together (Spring Collection, Target Exclusive)

Such a pretty color! A nice bright purple with a warm gold and red glow. I love it! There were two other purple shimmers released around the same time (Zoya Tru & OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI), but this is by far the nicest - in my opinion!

Another great formula, dries quickly, 3 coats as well. Better brush, just like all OPI brushes tend to be.

My Favorite Polish: Part 1 (Duo Chrome)

Since this is the first post of a brand new Nail Polish blog, I wanted to showcase a few of my favorite polishes from my stash, as well as give you all an idea of what I will be posting about & what types of polish I will be featuring.

Of all the different finishes of nail polish, Duo Chrome has got to be my absolute favorite. Duo chrome is simply a chrome finish that has a color shift with different lighting. It's gorgeous and very eye catching.

OPI - Just Spotted The Lizard (The Amazing Spiderman collection)

This OPI is my favorite duo chrome; it flashes between a rich olive toned gold to a dark teal. It is a dupe of the very popular Chanel Peridot, and at nearly half the cost ($8), well worth the purchase. I love it for simple fact that I don't have another polish that looks anything like it.

Good formula, a little thick, but that seems to be standard for chrome finishes. I love OPI's brush. Nice & short so you rarely get random drips & also it's a bit wider than other companies, so you get more coverage with one stroke.

Zoya - Adina (Reverie collection)

An older Zoya, but none the less beautiful. This is from a duo chrome collection that Zoya released in 2010 & my favorite by far. It has a lovely violet purple base that shifts to a soft pale green, but in warmer lighting, it can look more red and gold. Very pretty.

Good formula for this one as well, same thickness issue & can bubble if you don't wait a few minutes between each coat. But still overall a great polish & a definite to any collection.
