Takko Lacquer Winter 2015 Collection

Hey friends! Today, I have swatches of the Takko Lacquer Winter collection that is scheduled to be restocked on Monday the 25th along with a special 4 piece Valentine's Day collection (those swatches will be posted Monday morning).

In case you missed the Winter launch last time around, you will have another chance to grab five out of the six polishes originally released before the holidays. Ugly Christmas Sweater is sadly going into hibernation until the next holiday season. But that's okay, because the other five are gorgeous!

Takko Lacquer Fall 2015 Collection

Hey y'all! So I have a big swatch post for you guys today! Takko Lacquer is restocking the fall collection this week as well as a few new colors. When the fall collection released, my package was stuck at a USPS processioning facility and I wasn't able to get them swatched before hand.

Since they are being restocked, I figured now would be a great time to share them and we can all ogle over them together!

Madam Glam Swatch Spam (pt. 2)

Hi everyone! Despite my lack of posting, November is flying by for me. I am on the last two weeks of NaNoWriMo (the reason for my sporadic posting this month) and will hopefully have a completed first draft of a novel by the end of it.

It took a little longer than I originally planned, but I have the second part of my massive swatch/review of Madam Glam polishes.

Twinsie Tuesday: Recreate A Fellow Twinsie's Mani

Hey y'all! Today's Twinsie theme is to recreate a mani from a fellow Twinsie. I decided to do an awesome Ikat mani from Lisa of The Polished Playground. I love Lisa's nail art and I think we have a similar taste for design.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Rodarte NYFW Collaberation

Hey y'all! So jelly polishes are making a comeback in the nail world with OPI color paints, Essie color silks and the Sally Hansen x Rodarte NYFW trio. The cool thing about jelly polish is that you can do some really pretty "watercolor" looks with them!

I have the Rodarte trio for review today, and while the colors may seem a little unusual, they make for a really pretty, delicate mani!

Takko Lacquer Summer 2015 Collection Part 1

Hey guys and gals! So if you have come to my blog looking for the new Takko Lacquer summer release, you are in for a treat! Today I have part 1 of 2 posts for the new summer colors to be released June 18th at 8pm EST.

The entire collection is flat out gorgeous, as always. It has a variety of different finished, neon, jelly, flakie, shimmer, holo and glitter, so there is something for everyone. And now all Takko Lacquer polishes are infused with Vitamin E (on top of being 5-free and vegan) to help promote strong, healthy nails. The only noticeable change is that the polishes are slightly thicker and dry to a satin finish. They all still apply fantastic and now have the added bonus of actually making your nails better from the inside too! How cool is that? I don't think I have ever heard or seen a polish that does that.

One more thing before we get to the swatches. Along with the seven new polishes in the summer release, Takko Lacquer is introducing a new high shine scented top coat called Sugar High. I will post a full review along with the other three polishes on Wednesday but  I used the new top coat for all the swatches in both posts.

And now, sit back and enjoy all the drool-worthy goodies I have for you all today!

Julie G Damsel

Hey y'all, happy Monday! So I may have spent too much time editing photos and not putting actual posts together last week. But fear not. All of those edited photos are being put to good use, as I have a blog post for almost every day this week!

A couple of weeks ago I received a bottle of Julie G polish in my April Ipsy bag. Julie G isn't sold anywhere near Austin that I know of because we don't have Rite-Aid stores (the drugstore that carries Jesse's Girl and Julie G cosmetics) and I was super excited to finally try the brand out. I love Ipsy for this reason. More often than not, I am really pleased with the products in my bag and have used almost all of them! The polish color I got is one from the Julie G core line called Damsel.

Foil Tattoo NOTD

Hey y'all! So I am sure most of you know what foil tattoos are and how insanely cool they look. I have seen a few pics around using them as nail decals and omg, why a perfect idea! I am a total magpie and am instantly drawn to anything shiny or sparkly (ahem..nail polish!) and knew I needed some foil tats asap. I didn't want to spend a lot on my first go, (the original Austin-based company, Flash Tats sells a package for $20-$30) so I found a very cheap sheet of foil tattoos with a few designs that I could easily translate into nail decals.

Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box

Hi everyone! Today I have a super cool new Takko Lacquer that you may not have seen yet. Heart Shaped Box was released as a "mystery polish" during the last restock at the end of January. Sheryl was kind enough to include it in an awesome Valentine's Day gift package, along with Absinthe and a few goodies. And of course I swatched it for you guys to drool over!

Twinsie Tuesday: Holiday Special

Hey y'all! Today is a special edition of Twinsie Tuesdays. In case you didn't notice, all the Twinsies decided to take a short break over December, as the holidays and family commitments were taking up a majority of our time. But we wanted to do something special to celebrate the holidays with each other and you all, so we decided to do a double mani post honoring the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays.

I, personally, love this idea! While I'm not particularly religious, I believe it is important to recognize all beliefs and traditions. Only when we open our hearts to everyone can we truly begin to understand the notion of love and acceptance. Okay enough soapbox, time for the nail art!

Takko Lacquer Winter 2014 Release Part Two

Hey guys and gals! So how is your week going? Anyone stressing out over the holidays yet, lol? I have so much stuff jammed into the next few weeks that I may be a little crazy by the time New Year's gets here! But before I go off the deep end, I have more Takko Lacquer goodies to show you guys!

Today is part two of the winter release - with a total of seven new colors to lust after. The first three were swatched on Monday, so if you missed that post, you can read it here. I have three more to share in today's post (the seventh one was mistakenly left out of my package, but will be arriving shortly for me to swatch for you guys) and they are simply beautiful!

Fair Maiden Polish Once Upon A Dream

Hi friends! Today I have a polish from a brand new Indie brand - Fair Maiden Polish! I love discovering new indies, especially when they have a solid branding and a fantastic first collection.

I saw Fair Maiden Polish pop up on my Instagram feed a few weeks ago and fell instantly in polish love! The initial collection - Be Your Own Heroine (girl power, yay!), consists of ten polishes and a spectraflair topcoat. Although I do have about 4 from the BYOH collection on my wish list, I opted to try out Once Upon A Dream.

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Sports Team

Hey y'all! How is every one's week going? Are you all staying warm? I have seen quite a few snowy pics on Instagram lately! Usually this time of year in Texas, we are having nice fall weather, but it has been crazy cold lately!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is all about our favorite sports teams. I'm not in to sports all that much, except for baseball - and that's only if I can go see a game live! But there is a sport that I love, that, for many Texans, is almost as popular and definitely a lot more fun than HS football - Roller Derby! Texas Roller Derby is one of those awesome things that make my home state such a fun place to live. The TXRD has five pro teams - Cherry Bombs, Hell Cats, Holy Rollers, Putas Del Fuego and Rhinestone Cowgirls. I chose to represent the Hell Cats, and although they finished last in the league this year, I still love 'em!

Zoya Madeline Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hey guys and gals, happy Friday! Who has exciting weekend plans? Mr. APN has a softball game tonight, and then it is a nice boring weekend for us. I love slow weekends, lol!

Today's color trend post is one that I wasn't planning to like. Mauve Mist isn't exactly a color that I am immediately drawn to on it's own. Pairing it with more interesting shades from the Fall/Winter color palette suits my taste more, so I wasn't expecting to really like the color in polish form. Zoya Madeline from the Natural Deux collection changed my mind.

Twinsie Tuesday: Polish Roulette

Hey all! Hope your week started off well yesterday! I am muddling through with a bad case of allergies. Fall weather gets me every time! This week, the Twinsies are taking chances with our manis and doing a polish roulette! We had to grab two polishes at random and make them work. This is definitely not how I do things, lol! I am way to much of a control freak!

So instead of going through my whole stash, I picked two random polishes from my untrieds and came up with these two - O.P.I. Suzi's Got A Swede Tooth and China Glaze Don't Get Derailed.

Hey guys and gals! Today I have the second part of the new Takko Lacquer polishes that will be launching tonight! If you missed Monday's post, you can read it here. For this post, I have the final two colors, and if Monday's post didn't cause heart palpitations, then today's will!

Twinsie Tuesday: Sideways French

Hey all! Today's Twinsie Tuesday post theme is the sideways french. I had zero inspiration for this theme until late last night, lol! Some times the simplest things cause me the most grief! For those of you who aren't too sure what a sideways french mani is, it is done with a thin line of a different color along the sidewalls of your nail beds. I decided to do a little modification and continue that line up along the free edge of my nails and am really surprised at how much I like the result!
