Hey guys and gals! Today is another Twinsie Tuesday post, this week's theme is Inspired By A Book. I am super excited about this one because, as most of you know, I am a huuuuuuuuuge book lover. There is rarely a time that I do not have a book that I am reading. Fantasy is probably my favorite genre, anything to do with magic or fairy tale creatures. My current literary obsession is the Throne Of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. It is absolutely one of the best (if not the best) series I have read. Ever. Just two books and four novellas into the story and I am dead hooked!
At the end of the second book, Crown Of Midnight, Celaena (the heroine/badass) summons wild fire - a magic fire that burns blue instead of orange and red. And that is what I decided to do for my post today!
Used:
Revlon - Urban
China Glaze - Water You Waiting For
Revlon - Royal
Essie - Hide & Go Chic
China Glaze - Sunday Funday
Essie - Rock The Boat
O.P.I. - MBSW
Saran Wrap
Holy crap I probably used almost every single shade of blue I own! I first made a jelly sandwich with Urban, Water You Waiting For and Royal. After all that dried, I used saran wrap and sort of dabbed on the rest of the blue shaded trying to mimic the color depth of fire. After I was pleased with the color, I took my clean up brush plus some acetone and gently wiped off areas that were too heavy to create a more flame look. I really like the effect and am super happy with the outcome! They look almost like the image I had in mind when I started.
The third book, Heir Of Fire, comes out in about a month, and I am literally fantasizing about it! It has pretty much been agony waiting for it since I finished Crown Of Midnight a couple of weeks ago. But enough about my obsessive ramblings over Celaena Sardothian, cause I could probably go on for ever. So go check out the other TT ladies and their posts!
