Hey y'all! I am still all over the place, it seems, and am trying so hard to get back to blogging on a regular schedule. It feels like it has been forever since I have had a normal routine and I do not adjust well to change. But I am really going to focus this week and post like crazy for you guys and have lots of fun stuff for you all to check out.
So, in that spirit, today I have a little something different to share with you guys! Nail polish remover is an obvious tool for anyone who (even sporadically) paints their nails. It's pretty much a stagnant market, so I was super excited to have the opportunity to try out this new product!

Katarina Naturals Acetone Free and Acetone-based Removers
Katarina Naturals is a Michigan based company that specializes in all natural health and beauty products. They use raw and plant based materials in their products and practice environmentally friendly manufacturing. I make it a point to use products that are "green" so I love the idea of nail polish remover being more earth friendly!
I tried the Acetone Free remover first. It is made from plant based ingredients as opposed to petroleum based acetone. It is also scented with spearmint and smells just like spearmint gum! I used it to remove a standard mani, complete with base coat, two polish coats and top coat. While it did take a bit longer to remover the polish, I was able to get everything off by holding a soaked cotton ball on each finger for a couple of minutes and then scrubbing the nail clean. The best part is that my nails and cuticles did not dry out from the remover. I am not particularly sensitive to acetone, but i do experience drying and usually have to oil/lotion afterwards. Not so with this!
Next I tried the Acetone-based remover. Again, the chemical components are made from plant based and raw ingredients as opposed to petroleum based. I wanted to test it to the full extent and try it out with glitter removal! On my ring finger, I used the Acetone-based remover soaked in a cotton ball wrapped with foil and used my standard remover (the Target generic strengthening acetone remover) soaked in a cotton ball and wrapped with foil on the rest of my fingers. I left them wrapped for 10 minutes and then removed the foil and gave a good scrub. As you can see, the Katarina Naturals Acetone-based remover performed about the same as the Target generic. But as with the Acetone Free remover, it was far less drying than the Target brand!
Overall, I was really pleased with both products. I love the environmentally friendly practices behind the company and the company slogan "Take it easy on yourself." Too often we can get caught up with the stress of daily life and forget about what's important - taking care of ourselves and our earth! A company that supports both is a definite win in my book.

Nice review on these! I normally use acetone to remove my polish but that can be super drying and damaging on my nails. These sound like something I should check out.
