Essie Dress To Kilt Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great week! We are having glorious fall weather here in my part of the world. It is so nice to feel the cool breeze outside. Definitely my favorite time of year!

Today's Color Trend post is all about the ultimate classic color - Red. Pantone's fall palette is filled with vintage hues and Aurora Red is as vintage as it gets. A bright tomato red shade takes a grand departure from the standard Ox blood of the past. Sadly, no polish collection carried that trend into their fall offerings! But the closest one is Dress To Kilt from the Essie fall collection of the same name.

Dress To Kilt is a cool toned red cream. Like I mentioned earlier, a deep moody red is as classic as it comes when you talk about fall colors. Despite my aversion to red polish, this is a nice shade that will fit into any fall wardrobe whether it be a casual one or business attire. I can see this one as a great pedi shade for me this fall! The formula was pretty standard, two coats for full coverage, a little patchy on the first one. I have had better red creams, though.

So what do you all think?! Usually I try to stick as close to the color palette as I can, but this color threw me for a loop! Do you prefer your reds classic or do you want a little vintage flare?

  1. I think this red is pretty! I usually wear all kind of colors on the nails so I would sport this red or even a classic red.

  2. Le gasp! I used to have an aversion to reds too, but this is *exactly* the sort of rich, fantastic shade that turned me around. Bet it makes a gorgeous pedi, too!
