Julie G Damsel

Hey y'all, happy Monday! So I may have spent too much time editing photos and not putting actual posts together last week. But fear not. All of those edited photos are being put to good use, as I have a blog post for almost every day this week!

A couple of weeks ago I received a bottle of Julie G polish in my April Ipsy bag. Julie G isn't sold anywhere near Austin that I know of because we don't have Rite-Aid stores (the drugstore that carries Jesse's Girl and Julie G cosmetics) and I was super excited to finally try the brand out. I love Ipsy for this reason. More often than not, I am really pleased with the products in my bag and have used almost all of them! The polish color I got is one from the Julie G core line called Damsel.

Damsel is a mid tone pink cream with blue undertones. This is pretty much a basic pink that most brands have in their core line. In fact it is very very close to O.P.I. Hey Baby from the Gwen Stefani collection last year. Hey Baby is a little more red toned than Damsel, but they are so similar that I feel really redundant having both in my collection. But I digress... The formula on Damsel wasn't all that great. It was patchy after two coats and I needed a third to get full coverage. The consistency was nice however, and flowed easily from the brush. For a $4 polish, it's not that bad I suppose.

My initial experience with Julie G polishes wasn't mind blowing, but it is a drugstore brand and a very inexpensive one at that, so I'm not too sad about it. I might have to order some from the Jesse's Girl website to have a bit more range to test from. Cause I need an excuse to order more polish...

Anyway, I am glad to be back blogging more regularly. I missed you guys and sharing all the rad polish and nail art I put together. Hopefully life will be a little less melodramatic and allow me lots of play time. I do have a few things happening behind the scenes that are going to be super exciting. One of them is a collab project with a fantastic website called Cut Out + Keep and I cannot wait to share it with you all! So be sure to follow me on IG and FB that way you don't miss out on all the exciting stuff. And I promise I'm not going anywhere!

  1. Very pretty pink color this is. I own a few colors from them but I definitely should look into getting more since the ones I own, I like :)
