Twinsie Tuesday: Holiday Special

Hi friends! Happy Holidays to you all! Today is the Twinsie Tuesday group's special holiday post. This year, it is a general holiday inspired theme as opposed to something more specific. I prefer the open-ended themes because I have more wiggle room if an idea doesn't work out - like this one.

I legit tried three different designs and a total of five manis before one worked out. Ugh. And the one that did was much more simplistic than what I wanted, but I'm not gonna argue after four horrid attempts!

Twinsie Tuesday: Ruffian

Hey everyone! I am back with another Twinsie Tuesday post. This week's theme is Ruffian! If you don't know what a Ruffian manicure is, you will after we get through with you!

I didn't follow the strict definition of a Ruffian, but that's what is so awesome about art - it is open to interpretation! That is exactly what I did with my contribution.

Twinsie Tuesday: Recreate A Fellow Twinsie's Mani

Hey y'all! Today's Twinsie theme is to recreate a mani from a fellow Twinsie. I decided to do an awesome Ikat mani from Lisa of The Polished Playground. I love Lisa's nail art and I think we have a similar taste for design.

Neon Green Waves

Hi friends! Well I actually did it. I pulled out my brushes and did some intricate free hand nail art! I had this mani from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails pinned for ever and since I have all the awesome neons (except the blue) from KBShimmer sitting on my desk, I figured I might as well play!

Twinsie Tuesday: Revisit A Theme

Hi friends! Well it looks like I missed a whole week of posting and we are back to another Twinsie Tuesday post. In my defense, I have been working on the story I am writing like crazy. Unfortunately nail polish and blogging have been severely neglected, but I do have some Sally Hansen polish that I need to post in the very near future!

For today's Twinsie theme, we are revisiting a previous them that we missed out on the first time around. One of the first themes I remember skipping was the Negative Space theme. It has been a nail art "to-do" for quite some time and with all the craziness of my life over the last year, it just never happened. So yay for second chances!

Twinsie Tuesday: Neon

Hi guys and gals! Ready for another Twinsie post? This week we are doing neon nails! I am all about bright polish, so this was a really fun theme for me.

I combined one of my favorite things, a gradient, with leopard print. This is something that when I first started nail art I didn't like all that much, but now it seems that I have wanted to do it more and more often. And I definitely love it for summer!

Twinsie Tuesday: Blobicure

Hey y'all! Today's post is gonna be a quick one. I am still knee deep in getting part 2 of the new Takko Lacquer colors ready for tomorrow, but I had to make sure that my portion of this week's Twinsie Tuesday post was up! The theme for today is Blobicure! I recently did a 'blobicure" for another TT post and I really liked the results, but wanted another go at it.

Matte White & Gold Triangles NOTD

Hey y'all! How is your summer going? We have already had a few summer-time adventures in the two short weeks the kiddo has been out of school. I'm hoping to do some swimming in Barton Creek pool soon. It is one of my favorite things to do!

Today's NOTD is totally summer appropriate and would be a killer pool-side mani. White nails are some what of a classic summer look, but I kinda feel like it's a little too bland for my taste. So I decided to jazz up the white nail with something a little shiny and shimmery. Cause that's how I roll.

LOOK Proud Memorial Day Nail Art

Hey all, happy Memorial Day weekend to all my US friends! Today's post is a bit different than the NOTD/nail art posts I normally publish. A couple of weeks back, I posted a swatch review of a new drugstore brand called LOOK Nail Color (read the original post here) and had a very unpleasant experience with the brand. After my review, LOOK contacted me stating they had inadvertently sent me "hand poured" samples which they use for promotional photos and that they would be sending me "production quality" samples as well with no expectation of an additional review.

I did do a comparison swatch between the two set and attempted the original nail art design I was planning for the first post with the new samples and in all honesty, these are much, much better. If I had gotten the "production quality" samples, my review would have been very different! The formulas on all three are so much easier to work with and apply a lot better. I am a bit annoyed by the "hand poured" discrepancy but I am impressed that LOOK took the time to reach out to me and correct their mistake.

So! Now that I got all that out of the way, I can show you my original design that I had planned the first time around!

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By Artwork

Hey y'all! Another Tuesday is upon us, and this week's Twinsie Tuesday them is a good one! We are doing nails inspired by artwork! Now if you have followed my blog for a while, you would know that I am an art dork. I studied Fine Arts in college and as well as Photography and Graphic Design. So this theme is right up my alley!

I decided to go with a more graphic look, as opposed to a painterly style and chose Piet Mondrian for my inspiration. His later work is very simplistic and uses very little color, except for primary colors and bold line work to convey depth. (Told you I am an art dork!)

Grey Scale Ombré with Foil Tattoos

Hey y'all! See, I told you I have a post for every day this week! After yesterday's post with the Ellagee Grey Scale collection, I wanted to incorporate all five in a simple nail art design. I haven't ever done an ombré mani, and since the collection is basically a set of varying hues, they would work perfect for one.

I decided to keep with the monotone look and use more of the silver foil tattoos for a nice embellishment.

Matte Grey and Purple Leopard Print NOTD

Hey guys and gals! So my little burst of creativity didn't disappear, whooo! It is so nice to sit down with my polish and be inspired to do a little design, even if it is something as simple as a leopard print!

Foil Tattoo NOTD

Hey y'all! So I am sure most of you know what foil tattoos are and how insanely cool they look. I have seen a few pics around using them as nail decals and omg, why a perfect idea! I am a total magpie and am instantly drawn to anything shiny or sparkly (ahem..nail polish!) and knew I needed some foil tats asap. I didn't want to spend a lot on my first go, (the original Austin-based company, Flash Tats sells a package for $20-$30) so I found a very cheap sheet of foil tattoos with a few designs that I could easily translate into nail decals.

Twinsie Tuesday: Pinterest Inspiration

Hi everyone! I am finally back to posting with the Twinsies after a two-week mini hiatus. This week, the Twinsies are looking to Pintrest for our weekly inspiration. I don't know about you, but I loooooove Pintrest for just about everything - cooking, crochet/knitting project, make up and nail art. It's awesome. It took me no time to find an inspiration pic, this one from the awesome Marta of Chit Chat Nails.

Twinsie Tuesday: Polish Received In A Swap

Hey guys and gals! Hope you all are doing well and staying warm! It is cold here in my little part of the world, and if it is cold here, then it is frigid everywhere else!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "polish received in a swap" and I happen to have quite a few awesome polishes from swaps with my fellow Twinsies! The two I decided to use for today's post came from Jessica and a former Twinsie - Cordia.

Snowy Nail Of The Day

Ohhai friends! Well we are back from East Texas, technically since Monday afternoon, and the mound of dirty clothes from the trip has dwindled down enough that I had time to do a little something with my nails!

The weather has turned cold and dreary, so I figured I would do something seasonally appropriate. And I had this gorgeous bottle of Love Angeline Love At Frost Sight sitting around waiting ever so patiently to be used.

Matte Skittlette Nail Of The Day

Hey guys and gals, short and sweet post for you all today - we had a loss in the family yesterday and all my energy is being devoted to that. But I did want to share my nails, because: one, it makes me happy to blog and I need it right now, and two, sometimes a mani is just too good not to share!

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Sports Team

Hey y'all! How is every one's week going? Are you all staying warm? I have seen quite a few snowy pics on Instagram lately! Usually this time of year in Texas, we are having nice fall weather, but it has been crazy cold lately!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is all about our favorite sports teams. I'm not in to sports all that much, except for baseball - and that's only if I can go see a game live! But there is a sport that I love, that, for many Texans, is almost as popular and definitely a lot more fun than HS football - Roller Derby! Texas Roller Derby is one of those awesome things that make my home state such a fun place to live. The TXRD has five pro teams - Cherry Bombs, Hell Cats, Holy Rollers, Putas Del Fuego and Rhinestone Cowgirls. I chose to represent the Hell Cats, and although they finished last in the league this year, I still love 'em!

Twinsie Tuesday: Minimalistic

Hi friends! Another Tuesday is upon us (mid term election Tuesday, no less!) and that means it is time for the next Twinsie Tuesday theme. This week we are going minimalistic. I really love minimalist designs. More often than not, my nail art usually reflects that aesthetic. So today's theme was a lot of fun for me!

Rainbow Gradient Glitter Placement with Born Pretty Neon Circle Glitter

Hey all! Hope you guys are having a great week! It has been super hectic around here with school stuff and the Mr.'s job change (his last day at the old place was yesterday, eep!) and I am trying to muddle my way through, haha! But I am managing to find a few moments to blog and catch up on social media. Though I am not as active as I wish I were. So thanks to you all who don't give up on me if I don't have the time to be around as much!

Today I have more goodies from Born Pretty. This time around, I went a little more complex and used a glitter pot full of neon circle glitter!
