Hey all! Hope you guys are having a great week! It has been super hectic around here with school stuff and the Mr.'s job change (his last day at the old place was yesterday, eep!) and I am trying to muddle my way through, haha! But I am managing to find a few moments to blog and catch up on social media. Though I am not as active as I wish I were. So thanks to you all who don't give up on me if I don't have the time to be around as much!

Today I have more goodies from Born Pretty. This time around, I went a little more complex and used a glitter pot full of neon circle glitter!

But I am enjoying the relaxed schedule and the extra time for fun outings. Lime Crime Nail Art Week continues today with a mani that screams spring to me! I almost thought this wouldn't turn out. As I was going along and adding colors, I started to get worried that I was covering the first layers too much. In the end, everything turned out and I love the result! Which just proves, that it's a good idea to stick with a design til the end!

So I hope this little mani has put a little spring fever in your heart, since it seems winter isn't quite done with us yet! And I hope you guys can see the versatility of the Lime Crime polishes, and continue to do so throughout the week!

Hey y'all! Today is Pride Fest, here in town, and like last year, I did a little nail art to commemorate. I won't go into a whole long speech about LGBT rights or anything like that, because this is a nail blog, not a political blog. But I do consider myself to be a part of the LGBT community (if you really want to know all about it, you can read my post here) and if I can't go out to the parade, then I'll be sporting rainbows for sure!

I'm not too sure about the outcome. In all honesty, this is my fifth attempt. Every time I tried to do a design, I ended up not liking it at all. This one was way better in my head, but I was done trying and my cuticles couldn't take anymore acetone!

 

Oh well, at least they are rainbow!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Rainbow

Hey everyone! Today is another challenge post and it is Rainbow! I love rainbows, and pretty much anything organized by rainbow colors. It makes me smile!

The original idea for this came from here, but I wanted to use my new rhinestones instead of dots. Yes, I am obsessed with both the rhinestones and MYBSW. Sorry. I promise the next post will have neither! On a side note, I totally need a back up bottle.

 

Yay, rainbows! I may recreate this for the pride parade later this year.

 

Gradient is up next, and then it will be more complicated nail art type prompts, which I am super excited and very, very nervous to do!

China Glaze Cirque du Soliel Collection

Hey all! Hope all you American readers had a great Thanksgiving & everyone else had a great Thursday! Today I have three polishes from the new China Glaze collection inspired by the Cirque du Soliel movie "Worlds Away. "

 

China Glaze - It's a Trap-eaze

 

It's a Trap-eaze is a fabulous milky white polish loaded with multi sized rainbow glitter. I am such a sucker for milky glitters, and this one is my absolute fav, hands down. Looking at the swatch pictures actually makes want to go put it on again! Formula was a little tricky mainly because of the amount of glitter packed in the bottle. 2 coats and a nice thick top coat evened everything out perfectly though.

 

 

 

 

 

China Glaze - Surreal Appeal

 

 Surreal Appeal is a "nearly" neon pink coral cream. I say "nearly" because it doesn't dry matte, but very glossy. It was much more bright and pigmented than the bottle. I have been looking for a good coral, and at first I was let down because this is very pink, but ended up really liking it after I wore it for a little while. Formula was a bit on the thin side, so make sure you go easy with your application to avoid pooling. Despite the thin formula, it only took 2 coats for full coverage.

 

 

 

 

China Glaze - Water You Waiting For over Julep Hoch

 

 Water You Waiting For is a sheer blue base with blue, green and purple multi sized glitters. It is a pretty dense polish and could be built up on it's own with out undies, but I was already wearing Hoch & was too lazy to take it off! >_<  I think they look really well together! Yay teal! Since WYWF is a total glitter bomb, I expected to have a much more difficult time applying, but it wasn't as bad. It does tend to get a tiny bit clumpy, if you are slower with it, but nothing too major.

 

 

I really dig the glitters from this collection & some of the other brights are definitely on my to buy list!

Nail of the Day: Show some PRIDE!

This weekend was Gay Pride in Austin. To show my support, I painted a Pride inspired mani!

 

The LGBT community holds a very special place in my heart. My mother-in-law is gay, and I have gone through my own struggles of gender identity and sexual experimentation. My first Pride celebration was an amazing experience, and something that I will never forget. I hope to take my daughter one day (when she is an adult!) to a pride with my husband and m.i.l. We want her to understand, above all, that everyone deserves to be loved, and we should all be able to love who we choose. Now enough of my soapbox, on to the mani! ; )

 

I decided to try some very basic nail art and free handed a rainbow striped accent nail, along with the "NO H8" logo on my middle finger. My stripes and lettering aren't the best, so be kind!

 

I used Spoiled by Wet n Wild Visibly Slimming black cream as a base and the following colors for the rainbow stripes:
