Pahlish Coquettish Creature

Hey guys & gals! So it's been a while since I have made any polish purchases. Colourpop make up was taking up a lot of my budget. But if you have tried Colourpop, then you understand, lol!

Well all the indies have been releasing their fall collections over the past few weeks and I just couldn't pass up some of them - especially this one from Pahlish. Once you see it, you'll understand why!

Twinsie Tuesday: Oldest Untried

Hi friends! This week's Twinsie theme is our "oldest untried" and well, I usually don't have a big pile of untrieds laying around! I tend to immediately use a polish, either on a swatch wheel or wear it as soon as I get it, lol! I am definitely one for instant gratification. But I did manage to find one that I have yet to wear that is actually pretty old.

I am a huge Pahlish fan, if you haven't figured that out yet, so having a Pahlish polish that I haven't actually worn is really strange. Jardim Botanico came out last summer and all I ever did was swatch it on a swatch stick for my collection catalog. So this may actually be a first!

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Discontinued Polish

Hey y'all! Another Tuesday is upon us and that means I have this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme! We are all sharing our favorite discontinued polishes for today's post. I know, it's kind of unfair to be showing gorgeous polish that you can't really get anymore, but please try not to be too mad, okay?!

If you are an Indie fan, like myself, you know that more often than not, indies will eventually be discontinued. And while I have several really great polishes that are no longer produced, the indies always stand out. For my post, I picked a recent score from Pahlish - a special edition Bespoke Batch that was released in February for Friday the 13th called "Boo Give Love."

Twinsie Tuesday: Fandom

Hey y'all! So today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is all about fandom - otherwise known as being obsessive over something like a book/tv show/movie/food/comic/musician. This was such a hard theme for me because I have so many things that I obsessively love! To narrow it down was so brutal for me, lol! When it came time to put my mani together, I went through my stash and grabbed a polish inspired by one of my many loves - Dr. Who.

"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words, I scatter them in time and space. A message to lead myself here." - Rose Tyler after absorbing the time vortex inside the TARDIS and transforming into the Bad Wolf entity.

2014 Top Ten and Year In Review

Happy frickin' New Year!!! I am tired, grumpy and a wee bit hung over, but I couldn't start 2015 properly without doing my annual recap post! This is my third year to do it, and it is still one of my favorite things to post. I have been  working on it off and on through out December in order to have it done on time. It was a lot of fun going back through all the polish from this past year, and seeing what posts were the most read!

Pahlish Bad Wolf

Hey y'all!! So I hope you guys enjoyed the guest posts! I am still without my brand new shiny camera, but my awesome father-in-law lent me his point and shoot, which ironically, is identical to my previous camera. So at least I am able to blog and use something that I am familiar with.

Today, I have a new to me Indie brand called, Pahlish. I hadn't heard much about it until the most recent collection was released - one being Dr. Who themed. I am a newly converted Whovian (I have a deep adoration of all things sci-fi/fantasty) and am thoroughly enthralled with the adventures of The Doctor and his companions. From the collection, entitled "All Of Time And Space," I immediately fell in love with Bad Wolf, not only for the color, but also because it was named after Rose and her transformation into the Bad Wolf on Satellite 5.

Pahlish - Bad Wolf

Bad Wolf is a taupe color with gold and red shimmer. I just can't help myself with taupey colors. I know they are no good with my skin tone, but I love 'em. This one looks really great, the gold and red shimmer help balance the color for me a lot. The polish, itself, is stunning and the shimmer is rich and complex. The formula was a bit difficult to work with, being thicker and having some leveling issues. I wasn't pleased with the outcome of my first swatch, so I added a few drops of thinner (cause thinner solves all the problems!), shook it up and let it sit for day. It made all the difference in the world! 2 easy coats, followed by a layer of Glisten and Glow, then Glossy Glam. I was a little irritated that I had to add thinner, but am overall pleased with the polish, because it is seriously gorgeous!

Seriously, that shimmer is totally killer! I love the red shimmer a lot of indie makers are using, it creates an inner glow that is always so pretty.

Oh how I want all the polishes in this collection! Especially Mad Man With A Box, The Oldest Question, and the special duo - EXTERMINAAAATE!

So what do you guys think? More importantly, are you a whovian?!?
