Twinsie Tuesday: Holiday Special

Hi friends! Happy Holidays to you all! Today is the Twinsie Tuesday group's special holiday post. This year, it is a general holiday inspired theme as opposed to something more specific. I prefer the open-ended themes because I have more wiggle room if an idea doesn't work out - like this one.

I legit tried three different designs and a total of five manis before one worked out. Ugh. And the one that did was much more simplistic than what I wanted, but I'm not gonna argue after four horrid attempts!

Halloween(ish) Water Marble

Hi friends! OMG I cannot believe it is just a few days until Halloween. And then a month later Thanks Giving and so on until the end of the year. Holy crap time flies when you are an adult.

Anyway, if you follow me on IG, you may have seen a sneak peek at a water marble I was desperately trying to not eff up, and guess what? It was a success! By that I mean I managed to get a water marble design on all of my nails (except my thumb - but we're not gonna talk about that).

Twinsie Tuesday: Ruffian

Hey everyone! I am back with another Twinsie Tuesday post. This week's theme is Ruffian! If you don't know what a Ruffian manicure is, you will after we get through with you!

I didn't follow the strict definition of a Ruffian, but that's what is so awesome about art - it is open to interpretation! That is exactly what I did with my contribution.

Monochromatic Floral Stamped NOTD

Hey y'all! For today's post I have a super pretty design that I did for a wedding that my husband and I went to last weekend. I recently grabbed a few beauties from the China Glaze fall collection - The Great Outdoors, and two looked so good together that I couldn't resist using them.

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By A Hobby

Hey everyone! I have been on a stamping kick lately. This week I have two stamped manis to post - and that never happens, lol! Anyway, today's Twinsie theme is "Inspired by another hobby other than nail polish." I am a total yarn snob and love to crochet and knit. I remembered having an image plate from Bundle Monster that reminded me of a yarn tangle and promised myself I would use it one day. So today is that day!

Twinsie Tuesday: Ocean Inspired

Hey everyone! I am trying to get back into this blogging thing - though still feeling a need to take it slow. So for right now, I am sticking with Twinsie Tuesday themes and the occasional swatch/review post until I feel more comfortable posting (and all the extra stuff that goes along with posting) on a regular basis. I took the time off to spend the last few weeks of summer with my family but, ultimately, I think I was on the verge of being burnt out. Taking a break has done a lot of good, but I'm still not ready to through myself back into the furnace quite yet. I understand if that's not something you want to deal with, but I do appreciate those of you who do stick around and are patient.

For this week's theme, the Twinsies are posting nail art inspired by the ocean. As it so happened, I had saved this mani on Pinterest a while back and immediately knew it would be my inspiration for today's post.

Used:

Look Nail Color - Oh Say Can You See
China Glaze - Water You Waiting For

Look Nail Color - Broad Stripes, Bright Stars
MoYou London - Sailor Collection #3

I am a sucker for a good jelly sandwich and the idea of putting a stamped design over the top is just perfection! I am also really happy to have the first nail art attempt in a very long while turn out so nicely.

And as always, be sure to check out all the lovely ladies of the Twinsie Tuesday nail art group and their oceanic inspired nail art!

Friday Favorites: Orange

Hi friends! I am back today with another Favorites post. The fav color for this one is orange. I love a good orange polish, it is probably one of my favorite colors to wear in the summer time - especially if the orange is bright or sparkly! And that is exactly what kind of polish I picked out for my top four favorites!

Twinsie Tuesday: Jelly Sandwich

Hi friends! Hope you all are having a wonderful start to your week! I am feeling a bit frantic, honestly. So many things are going on right now, lots of social/school stuff that has left me little overwhelmed! I am more of an introvert and prefer the comforts of home to a crazy, busy social life. But having little things like my blog help to unwind and de-stress from time to time. Even if my posts are a little later than planned.

Speaking of posting later than planned, I finally have today's Twinsie Tuesday post done! Technically it was supposed to publish this morning at 8am...but I suck. Anyway, the theme this week is Jelly Sandwich! Like most nail aficionados, I love a good jelly!

Twinsie Tuesday: Pinterest Inspiration

Hi everyone! I am finally back to posting with the Twinsies after a two-week mini hiatus. This week, the Twinsies are looking to Pintrest for our weekly inspiration. I don't know about you, but I loooooove Pintrest for just about everything - cooking, crochet/knitting project, make up and nail art. It's awesome. It took me no time to find an inspiration pic, this one from the awesome Marta of Chit Chat Nails.

Ethereal Gradient NOTD

Hey y'all! So I actually did some nail art that isn't related to my TT posts! Not to say that I don't being a part of the Twinsies, but it has been a long time since I have felt inspired to do much nail art outside of our weekly prompts. But I seem to have come out of my slump! Hopefully this creative energy will stick around a while!

Twinsie Tuesday: Polish Received In A Swap

Hey guys and gals! Hope you all are doing well and staying warm! It is cold here in my little part of the world, and if it is cold here, then it is frigid everywhere else!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "polish received in a swap" and I happen to have quite a few awesome polishes from swaps with my fellow Twinsies! The two I decided to use for today's post came from Jessica and a former Twinsie - Cordia.

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By Your Shoes

Hi y’all! How is your week going? Since it is Tuesday, I have this week’s Twinsie post. We are doing manis inspired by our shoes. I am not a shoe person to be honest. I would live in flip flops if I could, lol! But since it is winter, I have stored them in favor of some very sensible, comfy canvas flats from target. I am pretty sure this mani is way more fashionable than they are, lol!

2014 Top Ten and Year In Review

Happy frickin' New Year!!! I am tired, grumpy and a wee bit hung over, but I couldn't start 2015 properly without doing my annual recap post! This is my third year to do it, and it is still one of my favorite things to post. I have been  working on it off and on through out December in order to have it done on time. It was a lot of fun going back through all the polish from this past year, and seeing what posts were the most read!

China Glaze Don't Get Derailed Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hey guys and gals, another week has come and gone! Today's Color Trend post is the last one of the season. We have made it through the entire fall/winter palette with only one exception (Misted Yellow) and I couldn't find a single polish to match. Not that I am complaining, the color is not very polish friendly!

The last color is the muted warm green, Cypress. A lot of people have a hard with this color, but I actually really like it - clothing or makeup. China Glaze Don't Get Derailed from the most awesome All Aboard fall collection nails this earthy tone perfectly!

Oh, and sadly no, my nails did not magically grow back over night into my lovely rounds I had previously. I took these pics before my nail broke. Sigh...

China Glaze Well Trained Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trends

Hi friends! Are you all recovering from yesterday? I, for one, am staying home and attempting to clean my house a little. I can promise you, it is not a pretty sight! But before all that, I am back with another Color Trend post, yay!

If you remember back to the first post of the fall series, the Pantone color palette for the fall/winter season included two blue shade: Royal Blue (in the form of Essie Style Cartel) and Bright Cobalt, the featured color for today's post. I have an issue with the color associated with the name "Bright Cobalt." It is neither bright nor a cobalt blue. It is a dusty navy blue if anything. Oh well, at least we have a gorgeous polish like China Glaze Well Trained from the amazing All Aboard collection.

China Glaze Dancing & Prancing

Hey y'all! I don't know about you guys, but I cannot believe it is already time for the holidays! This year has gone by soooo fast and I kinda feel like I wasn't able to keep up, lol!

Today I have a quick post with one of the new glitters from the China Glaze Twinkle holiday collection. I really wasn't planning on getting any of them, but I saw Dancing & Prancing at my local Sally's and was totally captivated by the shiny glitters!

Twinsie Tuesday: Polish Roulette

Hey all! Hope your week started off well yesterday! I am muddling through with a bad case of allergies. Fall weather gets me every time! This week, the Twinsies are taking chances with our manis and doing a polish roulette! We had to grab two polishes at random and make them work. This is definitely not how I do things, lol! I am way to much of a control freak!

So instead of going through my whole stash, I picked two random polishes from my untrieds and came up with these two - O.P.I. Suzi's Got A Swede Tooth and China Glaze Don't Get Derailed.

Sunday Stamped: Neon Kisses with MoYou London Hipster Collection

Hey y'all, happy Sunday! Today's post is a late, we were up all last night watching Oklahoma! out at the Zilker outdoor theater. Yes, I am a musical nerd. Love them! Anyway, instead of being a good blogger and scheduling my post yesterday before we left, I decided to do it today after sleeping in and a late breakfast, lol!

I have two new things to play with, some of the China Glaze summer neons and new MoYou London plates. I used both the neons and the MoYou Hipster collection plate as well in my previous post, here. I personally think the two products are perfect for each other!

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By A Book

Hey guys and gals! Today is another Twinsie Tuesday post, this week's theme is Inspired By A Book. I am super excited about this one because, as most of you know, I am a huuuuuuuuuge book lover. There is rarely a time that I do not have a book that I am reading. Fantasy is probably my favorite genre, anything to do with magic or fairy tale creatures. My current literary obsession is the Throne Of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. It is absolutely one of the best (if not the best) series I have read. Ever. Just two books and four novellas into the story and I am dead hooked!

At the end of the second book, Crown Of Midnight, Celaena (the heroine/badass) summons wild fire - a magic fire that burns blue instead of orange and red. And that is what I decided to do for my post today!
