Takko Lacquer Fall 2015 Collection

Hey y'all! So I have a big swatch post for you guys today! Takko Lacquer is restocking the fall collection this week as well as a few new colors. When the fall collection released, my package was stuck at a USPS processioning facility and I wasn't able to get them swatched before hand.

Since they are being restocked, I figured now would be a great time to share them and we can all ogle over them together!

KBShimmer Winter 2015 Collection (Partial)

Hi friends, happy Moday! I am trying to get a few things posted before the holiday weekend. I will be in East Texas visiting my family.

So today, I have three polishes from the new KBShimmer Winter Collection. It is a huge release with 14 shades in all. There are a few glitter toppers, holographic finishes, creams, crellies and more!

KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection (Partial)

Hey y'all! The weather is finally starting to cool down a little here and I LOVE IT. Omg, I know everybody and their dog is talking about fall weather, sweater weather, pumpkin spice latte weather (tho I'm more of a salted caramel kinda gal), but fall is awesome because Texas becomes bearable for a few months and I can go outside and enjoy the gorgeous landscapes without melting into a puddle.

And it means Fall collections! In the past, I wasn't one for vampy fall colors, but I've learned to appreciate a few shades that are fall appropriate. It also helps that Indies put out some incredible collections each season! That's what I have for you all today! I'm sure you have seen the KBShimmer Fall release that came out several weeks ago, but if not, I have a few select polishes from that bunch to share with you all!

Neon Green Waves

Hi friends! Well I actually did it. I pulled out my brushes and did some intricate free hand nail art! I had this mani from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails pinned for ever and since I have all the awesome neons (except the blue) from KBShimmer sitting on my desk, I figured I might as well play!

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By Your BFF

Hi guys! quick TT post today. This week's theme is inspired by our BFFs. I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful group of ladies who support me, inspire me and make me smile on a daily basis. So this many is for all of them.

Black & Mint Green Stamped Floral Skittlet

Hey guys and gals! It's has been waaaay too long since I have done any stamping. File it under the category of "Life is a total drain on anything fun" along with the ridiculously long break from nail art I took. But sometimes all it takes is really great materials to kick inspiration in gear. After I swatched the Ellagee Grey Scale collection, (read that review, here!) I was sure that Ebony, the black polish in the set, would make an awesome stamping polish. And I have been wearing Mint Succulent from Fair Maiden Polish for a few days, so.... Well you can see where I'm going with this right?!

Twinsie Tuesday: Anti-Valentine's Day

Hi friends! I am back to posting the Twinsie Tuesday themes! I felt like I had missed so much when the kiddo and I were sick. I know life happens, but I don't like skipping out so much because of it.
Today's theme is Anti-Valentine's Day. Although I am a big fan of supporting love in any form (not just your significant other), I kinda got into this week's theme! Lately I have seen gorgeous red/black gradients floating around Pinterest - this one in particular. Even though it was meant for a Halloween look, I think the idea translates really well for an Anti-Valentine's one.

Indigo Bananas Swatch Spam

Hi friends! How was your weekend? It was so frickin cold and wet the whole time! I don't mind cold weather, but when it is cold and rainy, I get whiny, lol!

Today I have some swatches from the indie brand, Indigo Bananas! This is a long post with a lot of pictures, so be prepared! I selected four different polishes to swatch from the current offerings that, I think, best represent the brand. And not to spoil the post or anything, they are all really great!

Happy New Year's Eve!!!

Hi friends! Sorry I have been M.I.A. for the past few days. All the holiday celebrations over the last week have kept me quite busy with little time to blog! Can you believe it is New Year's Eve?! I just can't get over how fast this year has gone. What a whirlwind it has been.

Since it is NYE, I had to do something and end the year with some nail art! I just wouldn't be a proper nail blogger if I didn't, lol!

Takko Lacquer Winter 2014 Release Part One

Hey y'all! How was your weekend? Mine was made exceptionally better after swatching the new Takko Lacquer beauties for the upcoming Winter release! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw a couple of sneak peeks at some of the polishes to be released at the end of the week.

O.P.I. Today I Accomplished Zero

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Did you partake in any of the awesome polish sales? I actually skipped out this year because I may or may not have gone on a spending spree a few weeks ago! Today's polish being one of them. I picked up O.P.I.'s Today I Accomplished Zero at my local Ulta, but never wore it.

As you can see, I am back to squared nubs. I broke off much of the nail on my ring finger yesterday. Shorty squares look so great with a dark and edgy polish, so I grabbed Today I Accomplished Zero since it was sitting in my untried pile. I really don't know how to feel about going short and square - I really love the longer round nails I had, but this polish is making me feel a little better!

Please Note: Products shown were purchased by me for my personal use.

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Sports Team

Hey y'all! How is every one's week going? Are you all staying warm? I have seen quite a few snowy pics on Instagram lately! Usually this time of year in Texas, we are having nice fall weather, but it has been crazy cold lately!

Today's Twinsie Tuesday theme is all about our favorite sports teams. I'm not in to sports all that much, except for baseball - and that's only if I can go see a game live! But there is a sport that I love, that, for many Texans, is almost as popular and definitely a lot more fun than HS football - Roller Derby! Texas Roller Derby is one of those awesome things that make my home state such a fun place to live. The TXRD has five pro teams - Cherry Bombs, Hell Cats, Holy Rollers, Putas Del Fuego and Rhinestone Cowgirls. I chose to represent the Hell Cats, and although they finished last in the league this year, I still love 'em!

Twinsie Tuesday: Halloween

Hey everyone! Well it's been a couple of weeks since I posted with the Twinsie Tuesday group. I am always so upset with myself when I miss a post, so hopefully that wont happen for a long time. This week we are posting Halloween themed looks and I am kinda glad for it, otherwise I may not have done one this year!

Twinsie Tuesday: Classic

Hello friends! Another Tuesday has come around and this week, for the Twinsie Tuesday theme, is Classic! I immediately thought of a dotticure - a classic nail art look and keeping with the theme, I went with a classic color combination.

Takko Lacquer Créature

Hello everyone! I have something to make your day a little brighter! Yesterday I showed you the gorgeous Spirited Away from the new Takko Lacquer winter release. Today, I have the counterpart of the collection, Créature - also known as my polish pic for NYE!

Please Note: Products shown were sent to me by the company/creator for review purposes.

Takko Lacquer - Créature

Créature is a black with bronze/golden shimmer and a serious linear holo.  The shimmer gives the black a smoky look, like patina on silver, super pretty. For me, it is a very wearable black, it doesn't give me the dreaded lobster hands that a lot of darker colors do. And as for the holo, check out the pics! Indoor lighting and all those rainbows! A serious stunner in sunlight for sure (dreary rainy skies for me when I swatched it, boo!). This is one coat of lovely Takko goodness. Standard thick, smooth formula as well. Because Sheryl uses vegan mineral pigments and shimmers, the polish dries to a satin finish. A good shiny top coat will bring this baby to life. I used Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat for all the photos.

Now this is how you do a black holo! There have been others (a certain "Hologlam" shade comes to mind) that fell flat and left me longing. But no more!

Be sure to follow Takko Lacquer on Instagram and Twitter for restock dates and info. And set your alarms, because they go quick!

Takko Lacquer is available on line. Products retail for $13.00 a piece.

China Glaze Monsters Ball Halloween 2013 - Bat My Eyes and Howl You Doin'

Hey friends! Since it is the week of Halloween, I have a lot of really fun, themed posts lined up! First off, I have a couple of awesome glitters from the China Glaze Halloween collection. I always love the polishes that they put out every year, and this year is no exception.

Please Note: Products shown were purchased by me for personal use.

China Glaze - Bat My Eyes (Monsters Ball, Halloween 2013)

China Glaze - Bat My Eyes (Monsters Ball, Halloween 2013)

Bat My Eyes is a black jelly base LOADED with gold hex glitters and tiny orange holographic bar glitters. This polish. Ugh. What a nightmare! It has to be one of the most thick and goopey polishes I have used in a long time, and I will be adding a healthy dose of thinner to it before my next use. But it is soooo pretty! I love love love black jellies with gold glitter. The orange bar glitters are actually great in this too. They add a nice extra depth to the polish, instead of looking like fuzzy bits.

China Glaze - Howl You Doin' (Monsters Ball, Halloween 2013)

China Glaze - Howl You Doin' (Monsters Ball, Halloween 2013)

Howl You Doin' is a deep plum jelly with purple and orange shard micro glitters. Now this is one sexy polish! I really love the combo of the jelly base color and the irregular shard glitters. Formula was much better that Bat My Eyes.. 2 coats for full coverage. The first coat was a little patchy, but the second covered everything perfectly. It dries a bit on the dull side, so be sure to top it off with a high gloss top coat.

These two are definitely my favorites from the set, but I am starting to get that craving for the black texture as well.

I have a couple of easy Halloween nail art ideas coming up this week that I am really excited to share with you guys! Hope you all have a happy Monday!

Bliss Polish SOA Collection

Hey y'all! Hope you are ready for a new collection from Bliss Polish! If you can believe it, Yvette has created another batch of beauties and this time, they are all inspired by Sons Of Anarchy. The collection has a little bit of everything going on; mattes, glitters, holos, and even a thermal and a duo chrome. I have four out of the seven colors from the set.

Please Note: Products shown were sent to me by the company/creator for review purposes.

Bliss Polish - Gemma (thermal, cold state)

Gemma is an oxblood thermal with gold shimmer and scattered holo micro glitter. In it's warm state, shown below, it transitions to a bright cherry red. I love thermals, even though this is only my second one. The transition is great and really noticeable. The formula is a little on the thicker side, but not problematic. 2 coats for full opacity.

Gemma (thermal, warm state)

Gemma (thermal, transition)

Bliss Polish - Tara

Tara is a fuchsia pink duo chrome that flashes to a warm orangey pink with a bright purple shimmer and tiny iridescent flakies. The color shift is really nice, and I was really surprised how much I liked this one! A tiny bit brush stroke, but no other issues. Almost a one coater, but I added a second to give the shimmer a nice boost.

Bliss Polish - Jax (matte)

Jax is a gunmetal silver that dries to a matte finish. It has the tiniest holo shimmer, but completely gets swallowed by the pigment. Even with a glossy top coat, it was very hard to capture any of the holo goodness. Kind of a let down. The formula was less than stellar as well. First coat was very patchy, a thick second coat did smooth everything out.

(topped with Glossy Glam)

Bliss Polish - Mayem

Mayhem is a black crelly (cream/jelly hybrid) with scattered holo glitter. I was unable to get any decent picks of this out in the sun due to some (wonderful!) rainy weather. The holo is very subtle indoors, otherwise. Formula was similar to Jax, patchy and streaky on the first coat, with second to smooth it all out.

I'm not a fan of Son's Of Anarchy, so I can't comment on the interpretations, but I do love Gemma and Tara - the polishes. Funny since red and pink polishes are not at all thing I usually like. These four, along with the rest are in stock and ready for you to snag!

Bliss Polish is available online and retails for $8 a piece. The SOA Collection is now available, along with the rest of the Bliss Polish line.

Julep September Box - BoHo Glam

Hey everyone! Hope you all are having a good week so far! Today, I have the Julep September box, which I actually intended to skip (and I thought I did) until I saw the charge on my bank statement. Oops! Well, thankfully, I forgot because I love what I got.

Please Note: Products shown were purchased by me for my personal use.

Julep - Kristy

Kristy is a deep navy blue almost black, cream. I'm not typically a fan of these darker blackened colors, they tend to wash me out something bad. I'm just too pale, I guess! Other than that, it is super glossy and has a nice thick formula. I used one coat for the swatch and it completely covered.

Julep - Tatiana

Tatiana is a golden orange full coverage glass fleck glitter. Now this is an amazing color! Holy crap I frickin love it! If all the fall colors were this amazing, I would have no problem transitioning. Since it is a glass fleck glitter, it applies super smooth, this is two sparkly coats.

And naturally, I had to use the two together. Blue and Orange are a favorite color combo of mine, so I was sure these would look amazing together. Yay fall glitter gradient! This definitely puts me in the mood for some fall colors!

Fashion Friday #8

Hey guys! I've got a Fashion Friday collab post for you all today! This week is all about stripes and color blocking. Both are very popular fashion trends and can easily translate to nail art!

Used:

Maybelline Color Show - Paint The Town
O.P.I. - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out

Striping Tape

The overall look of the outfit Camille put together has a distinct retro feel, and a classic color combo of red, black and white, really carries that vibe. I love the simple and graphic look of the stripes paired with the red nails.

Used:

Zoya Pixie Dust - Beatrix
Zoya Pixie Dust - Destiny
Zoya Pixie Dust - Solange

Striping Tape

I must say, the earrings in this particular post, are frickin' awesome. I need a pair myself! Even better when I can use the Pixie Dust polishes to make some badass color blocking designs to go with them! I have seen quite a bit of nail art done with Pixie Dust polishes lately, and I can certainly see why. They are ridiculously easy to use and look fantastic; very visually appealing.

More fun coming up this next week! I have another textured polish review for you guys, as well as, some Born Pretty studs and of course the 31 Day Challenge continues! On time...hopefully...

And be sure to give Camille's style blog some love. Especially if you have a soft spot for great hand made accessories!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Black & White

Hey everyone! Today is a challenge prompt day. Black and White is the theme, and I had such an awesome idea...in my head. On the nail, it didn't turn out as exciting as I was anticipating, and I kinda suck at free hand.

Used:

O.P.I. - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Black Out

Rhinestone Studs

I know this is something that will get better with practice, but I am soooo impatient! I want to be awesome, right meow! Aside from the crooked lines, I kinda feel like the design feel a little flat and maybe I should have done more with the dots. Hindsight, as they say... Sigh.

Thursday's theme is Metallic, and I am using a couple of polishes from the UD Naked set (that I never swatched...oops) and hopefully it will turn out a little better!
