Friday Favorites: Orange

Hi friends! I am back today with another Favorites post. The fav color for this one is orange. I love a good orange polish, it is probably one of my favorite colors to wear in the summer time - especially if the orange is bright or sparkly! And that is exactly what kind of polish I picked out for my top four favorites!

China Glaze Riveting, RBL Nails & Noms, Takko Lacquer Strangely Delicious, Zoya Beatrix

Rescue Beauty Lounge Pretty Gritty (Refinery 29 Collaberation)

Hey y'all! So it has been far too long since I have posted about RBL. I honestly just haven't had it in my budget to spend that kind of money on polish, but when Ji has a sale, then I do tend to take advantage! That's what I did last time around. A few months ago, there as a 40% off sale on a lot of the RBL catalog and I snagged one of the newer shades on my wishlist!

Twinsie Tuesday: Biggest Splurge

Hey friends, happy Tuesday! I have some great news! By the end of the month, my husband will have a new career path! This has been the big chaotic thing that has consumed all of our lives for the past few weeks. It is definitely a good thing, but my amazing hubby had to put himself through a lot of stress to get here. I will never be able to express my complete gratitude for all his hard work and dedication.

Okay, enough sap and back to today's post, lol. This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is our biggest polish splurge. I know some of you may be able to guess what it is before you see the pictures. Out of all the higher end polish lines, I have a special place in my heart for Rescue Beauty Lounge. When I first started blogging Ji had just released the GOMM collection and I was immediately hooked. Nail polish inspired by one of my favorite artists?!?! And the colors were stunning and unlike anything I had seen from a nail polish brand. I vowed I would one day own all of those beautiful little bottles. Two years later and I own all but two. I sadly missed out on Poppy and Jack, but Ghost, Faraway, Bella, Abi and Santa Fe are sitting quite comfortably in my helmer.

Flirty French with Born Pretty 3D Floral Stickers

Hey everyone! Today I have a fun nail art post with some Born Pretty goodies! This is the first of three posts featuring different nail art embellishments that I was sent to review for you guys. First up are some 3D floral stickers!

Please Note: Products shown were provided by the company/creator for review purposes.

The package contains one sheet of 30 floral stickers in three sizes. Directions for use are printed on the back. Since the flowers look so delicate, I decided to go with something fun and girlie.

Used:

O.P.I. - Glints Of Glinda
RBL - Coquette

Chevron vinyl nail stickers

The floral stickers were very easy to apply. After I painted my nails, I simply peeled off a sticker from the sheet using tweezers and placed it on my nail. I used my current go-to top coat, KB Shimmer COT to seal the stickers. They also come off easily with nail polish remover too.

The stickers are fun and super easy to use. There are five different designs to choose from: bows, flowers, and assorted filigree. It is a simple way to embellish your nails without a lot of hassle. And you can get as creative as you want with them!

I have a 10% discount code to go along with all the Born Pretty stuff I will be reviewing over the next couple of weeks. So when you see something you like, be sure to use the code GETG10 at checkout!

Please Note: Products shown were provided by the company/creator for review purposes. All opinions are my own. For more info, please read my disclaimer.

Born Pretty 3D floral stickers and other nail art related products are available on line. 3D stickers retail for $2.19 a sheet. Prices vary by item.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Coquette

Hey friends, happy Tuesday! We have a snow day, so the girlie is home from school. Not that it is actually snowing, just lots of ice on the roads and Texas drivers freaking out because of said ice. Totally fine with me, I do not want to drive today! We are going to spend the day making cookies and playing with nail polish!

Today, I have another polish from the Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan 2.0 collection. When Ji had the open voting for colors, I read the description for Coquette and was hooked. You all know my undying love for coral polishes! Needless to say, I voted for this particular color, and am so thrilled with the final result!

Please Note: Products Shown were purchased by me for my personal use.

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Coquette (Fan 2.0 Collection)

Coquette is a bright pink toned coral crelly (cream/jelly hybrid) loaded with silver micro flakies and shimmer. Do I even need to say that I'm bananas for this polish?! Probably not. I think the pictures speak for themselves as to the beauty of it. It is the perfect pink. The warmer tone is bright and fun without being over the top. The flakies add the right amount of depth and interest. Not to mention the ever so slightly squish of the crelly base. Sigh. Another Rescue Beauty Lounge stunner! Formula was spectacular as all RBL polishes. 2 flawless, buttery smooth coats. I had the teensiest bit of VNL (visible nail line), but not enough to bother with a third coat. Top coat for maximum glossy goodness.

Ugh, gotta love that squishy look! I think Coquette nailed the original idea on the head, feminine, sexy and fun. Pretty sure this is my go-to pink from now on. Rescue Beauty Lounge colors never cease to amaze me, and I love each one of my RBL babies. I cannot wait for the next collection!

Rescue Beauty Lounge is available on line. Products retail between $18-$20 a piece.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Réveillon

Hey y'all! So I am still trying to work my way through my polish haul from the holidays (I may have gone over board with the shopping!) and I finally managed to grab a couple of RBLs from the Fan 2.0 collection. If you haven't checked out the set, you really should. Every single polish is simply stunning!

Please Note: Products shown were purchased by me for my personal use.

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Réveillon

Réveillon is a soft, dusty blue with a delicate silvery pink shimmer. While the shimmer is quite noticeable, it was ridiculously hard to capture in photographs. I am simply in love with this polish! It has such a dreamy quality that I just can't get over. I love the muted blues like this, but more often than not, they don't love me back and tend to give me the dreaded lobster hands. But I can't resist them! Réveillon, however, is very flattering on me! This may be my new favorite RBL and I may need to get a back up, because it is one that I will be wearing a lot!

Formula was superb as always. The polish was smooth as easy to apply, no issues what so ever. This is 2 buttery coats.

Sigh...isn't it perfection? I really love the Fan created colors, and I love that Ji did a collection like this. What an awesome way to say "Thank You."

I also have Coquette from the collection and will be posting it in a few days!

Rescue Beauty Lounge #Iwant2reviewRBL Voting!

Hey everyone! Today is a super exciting day! A few weeks ago, I posted some Rescue Beauty spam for a contest Ji Baek was hosting to find new RBL bloggers.

Well....I was selected as one of the finalists!!!!! Even though, the finalists were announced a week ago, I am still in total shock! It is a huge honor to have someone you idolize and respect deem your work worthy of their vision. I truly feel that just being amongst such ahhhmazing bloggers like Victoria/Manicurator and Lakeisha/Refined and Polished (plus every other girl that was nominated!) is such a huge accomplishment for little ol' me. But, I want to win. I want to share future RBL collections with you guys! I want to be part of the RBL family, along with Ji, and Rie, Scrangie, Kelly, Sam, and Pammy.

So I need you guys! I need you to vote for me, and spread the word! Get your friends to vote! Blast it on twitter, IG, FB and what ever other social media outlet you use! I am the underdog in this, and I need every last vote I can get.

CLICK HERE to go to the ballot page and cast your vote. A very big THANK YOU in advance to all of those who vote for me. Even if I don't win, I am so very blessed to have this opportunity. Love you guys!!!!

Rescue Beauty Swatch Spam

Hey friends! If you have read my blog, then you know that I fangirl hard core over Ji and Rescue Beauty Lounge polish. When Ji announced a contest to find new RBL bloggers, I was overjoyed. It would be a dream to blog about RBL polish and share all the future colors with you guys. So naturally I entered! The simple fact that Ji created this contest, instead of automatically selecting high volume blogs, has endeared her more to me than ever.

So as a way of celebrating the awesomeness that is RBL, I swatched my whole collection! Most, I have already posted on the blog (with full reviews), but I really wanted to go back and revisit the polishes and colors that made me fall in love and become a ReBeL for life.

Saran Wrap Nail Art with Rescue Beauty Faraway and Ghost

Hey everyone! Along with my Rescue Beauty Blogger 2.0 polishes that I recently purchased, I also grabbed another member of the GOMM family - Faraway. I haven been waiting quite a while for this one. Ever since I got Ghost, I knew I needed Faraway to do a little southwestern inspired nail art. I wanted to use the two to create a look reminiscent of turquoise, uncut in it's natural state. It is a beautiful stone, and I love the textural look of it. I had a hard time trying to figure out how I was going to replicate it, but lately I have seen a lot of amazing saran wrap designs floating around IG, so I decided to give it a try.

Used:

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Faraway

Saran Wrap

For the record, holding two bottle of polish is kind of hard. I am trying to add a little bit of artistic photography to my posts, and these types of shots are always so graphically interesting. Pain in the ass to pull off, so kudos to you all out there who do it on a regular basis!

Saran wrap designs are easy enough to pull off, but it is easy to get heavy handed and cover up the base color. I opted for painting Ghost onto the saran wrap and sort of sponging it on top of Faraway (after it was dry, of course). I'm kind of in love with it! Simple, yet so visually appealing. I need to do this more often!

For reference, here is what a chunk of uncut turquoise looks like. Seriously gorgeous and one of my favorite stones for sure.

Hope you all have a fantastic day! I have loads of cleaning to catch up on, Wheeee!!!! /sarcasm

Liberty By Rescue Beauty

Hey lovelies! Today I have another amazing polish from the Rescue Beauty Lounge Blogger 2.0 collection. In case you missed it, last week, I shared the delicious Nails and Noms from the same collection. I must confess, I do feel a bit guilty sharing this one, as it is sold out already. But I think it is just too pretty not to.

Please Note: Products shown were purchased by me for my personal use.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Liberty Blogger 2.0

Rescue Beauty Blogger 2.0 Liberty

Liberty is a soft minty sage green with a subtle silvery blue shimmer. The shimmer is not hidden, and you can see it in almost any lighting. The soft subtle quality gives the polish a very delicate feel. I'm not a girly girl, but I feel like one with this on. It really is a beautiful shade. Also mint green! Aside from coral, this has been my color pick this year. I think I have nearly as many mint polishes as coral now! Formula was a bit on the thicker side, but definitely not hard to work with. I had some slight dragging with the first coat from the shimmer particles, but the second smoothed everything out perfectly.

Liberty was created by Ji and the lovely Pam from Polish Police. I am in total awe of all the amazing colors from this collection. I just wish I had money to get them! I know I will be picking up Kellie Gonzo at some point, because it's coral. And gorgeous.

Nails and Noms by Rescue Beauty

Hello lovelies! I have a delicious beauty to share today! If you read my blog, you know I am quite the little RBL fan girl and usually splurge when it's my birthday or Christmas. Since my birthday coincided with the release of the Rescue Beauty Blogger 2.0 collection, I naturally snagged a few bottles.

Ji picked some really wonderful bloggers to work with this time around, (the infamous Scrangie, Sam from Fashion Polish, Kellie Gonzo, Rie from Nails and Noms and Pammy from Polish Police) where each got to help create their dream polish color. How cool is that?!? I would die from sheer bliss if I ever got that chance.

I knew at once I would need to get my claws on the polish from Rie. She is one of my absolute fav bloggers. After all, it was her blog that led me to my beloved Takko Laquer!

Nails and Noms is a bright juicy orange with insane pink/purple shimmer. If there was ever a polish that looked edible, this would be it! How awesome is it that it came from Rie?! Gorgeous. Formula was good, 2 coats for full coverage. If you usually paint thinner coats, you may need three. Dry time is a bit longer than normal. I managed to ding a nail on my other hand a good ten minutes after applying a top coat. It also dries matte due to the bright orange pigment, so grab your favorite shiny quick dry tc and have at it!

The shimmer is really something special. It is electric and shows up in most lighting. It truly comes alive in sunlight, which makes Nails and Noms a perfect summer polish!

Hi there pretty shimmer! This is what makes me all giddy for polish. And why I am willing to drop a $20 on a bottle. Excuse me while I grab a napkin to wipe away the drool.

Congrats Rie on an amazing polish, and Ji, you are simply wonderful! Well done you two!

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Inpired By Fashion

Hey guys and gals! I am trying to get back to my nail art challenge posting schedule, so since today is Tuesday, is time for another challenge prompt. Today's theme is "Inspired By Fashion" and everything I know about the fashion industry I learned from Project Runway. I really don't consider myself to be fashionable. I am totally comfortable in jeans and a cute shirt. Probably the most fashionable thing about me is my nails! I do love the creative design that goes into fashion, and especially doing a little nail art inspired by it, as you have all seen in my Fashion Friday collab posts.

I simply did a google search for current runway fashions and came across Diane Von Furstenburg's spring line. This particular outfit caught my eye. I love the color combo and the detailing around the yoke on the top is so visually interesting. I would totally wear it.

Used:

Julep - Dianna
Rescue Beauty Lounge - Ghost

Dotting Tool

I tried to recreate the feel and the detailing in the yoke for my design. I was going to add a bit of coral, but I am glad I left it like this.  It has such a 70's bohemian vibe, I totally love it. It definitely ranks up there with my favs from the challenge.

Only six more posts left in the challenge! I can't believe how far I have come and that I have stuck with it! Next is "Inspired By A Pattern"!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Turn It Around (PIC Heavy)

Hello all! Happy Mother's Day to all you fellow mamas out there! Since it is Mother's Day, I wanted to share my gift, of course it's nail polish! I usually ask for Rescue Beauty Lounge polish for gifts, and with the new "Emoting Me" collection having just been released, it was meant to be!

Out of all the colors, Turn It Around really stood out for two reasons - it is beyond unique and the inspiration behind it is something I hold dear, and try to live by.

Please Note: Products were purchased by me for my own personal use.

From Ji -
Once I understood the universe's law of polarity, everything made perfect sense. Negatives can’t exist without positives. If I never allow pain to wash over me, then joy becomes meaningless. From this color's dark mossy green pond, a vivid, glittering cast of copper shimmer welcomes me back to joy

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Turn It Around

Turn It Around is a deep mossy green with a vibrant pink copper shimmer. This is no hidden shimmer, folks. This is a glowy, warm, look at me! shimmer. It offsets the dark, murky depths of the polish base. It is stunning. And I don't say that. Like ever. Turn It Around is quite the chameleon shade. Sometimes I see a warm bronze, others a cool deep navy, along side the dark green. Formula was a tad thick. This is one slow and careful coat, you may need two, depending on how you polish. If you do need a second coat, I would suggest waiting a few minutes to avoid dragging. Dry time is a little bit slower than average, so a good quick dry top coat is a must. I used butter London PD Quick.

Ugh, dat shimmah! This close up is the best I could get with my camera. It kinda freaked out and didn't know how to process it. I had to adjust the settings quite a bit for it to show up at all! But, holy balls, it is gorgeous.

Turn It Around and the rest of the "Emoting Me" collection is available online via the Rescue Beauty Lounge website. Polishes retail between $18 - $20.

Please Note: Products were purchased by me for my own personal use. All opinions are my own. For more information, please see my disclosure policy, here.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Abi

Hey guys!  Hope all is well in your world. Today, I have another polish from my mini Rescue Beauty holiday haul. This is another one from the gorgeous GOMM collection.

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Abi

Abi is a pea green with a fine silver shimmer and a tiny bit of blue & pink shimmery flecks thrown in for added depth. Sigh. Isn't this the most lovely shade of green! I was so nervous about ordering this, thinking it was going to be more yellow toned and give me lobster hands, but I am in love! It is so fresh and bright, and especially unique! Formula was a bit different than I was expecting. It is on the thinner side and pretty streaky the first coat. Second coat smoothed it all out, nice and even.

I am on a mission to own every one of the polishes from the GOMM collection. Even jack, which is now gone. But, I will have it one day! Maybe...

Available online, at Rescue Beauty Lounge.

Nail of the Day: Starfish and Snowflakes

Hey everyone! Just a quick little nail of the day post for you guys, today. When I originally ordered Rescue Beauty Lounge Starfish Patrick, I came across this post from Victoria (a.k.a. Manicurator), I fell instantly in love the Indie glitter brand "I Love Nail Polish." Needless to say, I promptly ordered a bottle of Up To Snow Good to go along with Starfish Patrick.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Starfish Patrick & I Love Nail Polish Up To Snow Good Jelly Sandwich

I decided to one up the copycat look & do a jelly sandwich, my first successful one at that. I started with a coat of SFP and applied a thin coat of UTSG. Next I added a coat of Gelous (which is awesome, btw), another thin coat of SFP, one more UTSG, mainly applying where there were bald spots, another coat of Gelous and two coats of Wicked Fast, allowing for dry time between each coat. Whew! This may be my fav mani to date. It is all around perfect.

Now this is just a little teaser and I plan on a full glorious write up of Up To Snow Good in a few days. I honestly couldn't wait to show you all the awesomeness of this glitter before I had proper time to sit down and review it. But here's a spoiler, it's pretty amazing!
