Takko Lacquer Fall 2015 Collection

Hey y'all! So I have a big swatch post for you guys today! Takko Lacquer is restocking the fall collection this week as well as a few new colors. When the fall collection released, my package was stuck at a USPS processioning facility and I wasn't able to get them swatched before hand.

Since they are being restocked, I figured now would be a great time to share them and we can all ogle over them together!

Madam Glam Swatch Spam (pt.1)

Hi guys and gals! Hope you all are having a great Friday! I am so glad it's the weekend, I need a break from running all over the place! Plus the weather is rainy and chilly, and I loooove to curl up and read on days like this.

Today I have part one of a two part post filled with swatches of polish from Madam Glam. I received a total of eight polishes to review and to save my cuticles and my sanity, I split them into two posts. And because I can't wait, I started with my favorite colors first!

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Wrath Of Julia Child

Hi friends! I feel like I have been running around like the energizer bunny the last few days. Keeping up with the kiddo, writing, and blogging has got me going non-stop. But I am happy to be back posting more regularly. Polish has always been a little slice of color and happiness in my day-to-day routine and I have so much fun sharing it with you all!

Today I have a gorgeous fall shade from Scofflaw Nail Varnish. I tend to be very picky about my fall color choices, but the smokey plums and eggplant purples always do me in. So when I saw  a shade in the fall Scofflaw release that was a muted eggplant purple, my self control went out the window!

KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection (Partial)

Hey y'all! The weather is finally starting to cool down a little here and I LOVE IT. Omg, I know everybody and their dog is talking about fall weather, sweater weather, pumpkin spice latte weather (tho I'm more of a salted caramel kinda gal), but fall is awesome because Texas becomes bearable for a few months and I can go outside and enjoy the gorgeous landscapes without melting into a puddle.

And it means Fall collections! In the past, I wasn't one for vampy fall colors, but I've learned to appreciate a few shades that are fall appropriate. It also helps that Indies put out some incredible collections each season! That's what I have for you all today! I'm sure you have seen the KBShimmer Fall release that came out several weeks ago, but if not, I have a few select polishes from that bunch to share with you all!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Rodarte NYFW Collaberation

Hey y'all! So jelly polishes are making a comeback in the nail world with OPI color paints, Essie color silks and the Sally Hansen x Rodarte NYFW trio. The cool thing about jelly polish is that you can do some really pretty "watercolor" looks with them!

I have the Rodarte trio for review today, and while the colors may seem a little unusual, they make for a really pretty, delicate mani!

Zoya New Year New Hue Promo Haul

Hi friends. Oh man I am so behind in posting these, lol! At least twice a year, Zoya ( a.k.a. the best mainstream polish ever) has a three-free promo where you pick three polishes and just pay shipping. It is a super sweet deal and I almost always take advantage! For new year's Zoya offered the three-free promo again, which include a free mini trio as well (swatches of those to come). I took the opportunity to complete the Ignite collection and score the three I was missing - Autumn, India and Remy.

Fall/Winter Color Trends Wrap Up and 2015 Color Of The Year

Hey y'all! So this is the wrap up post of the Fall/Winter seasonal color trends. I personally really loved this palette. I think the color combination was a great way to express the vintage flare that is very present in fashion lately. It was a big season for creams, even though China Glaze and Zoya added some really interesting finishes to their fall/winter offerings. But I feel that a cream fits so perfectly with the season!

China Glaze Don't Get Derailed Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hey guys and gals, another week has come and gone! Today's Color Trend post is the last one of the season. We have made it through the entire fall/winter palette with only one exception (Misted Yellow) and I couldn't find a single polish to match. Not that I am complaining, the color is not very polish friendly!

The last color is the muted warm green, Cypress. A lot of people have a hard with this color, but I actually really like it - clothing or makeup. China Glaze Don't Get Derailed from the most awesome All Aboard fall collection nails this earthy tone perfectly!

Oh, and sadly no, my nails did not magically grow back over night into my lovely rounds I had previously. I took these pics before my nail broke. Sigh...

China Glaze Well Trained Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trends

Hi friends! Are you all recovering from yesterday? I, for one, am staying home and attempting to clean my house a little. I can promise you, it is not a pretty sight! But before all that, I am back with another Color Trend post, yay!

If you remember back to the first post of the fall series, the Pantone color palette for the fall/winter season included two blue shade: Royal Blue (in the form of Essie Style Cartel) and Bright Cobalt, the featured color for today's post. I have an issue with the color associated with the name "Bright Cobalt." It is neither bright nor a cobalt blue. It is a dusty navy blue if anything. Oh well, at least we have a gorgeous polish like China Glaze Well Trained from the amazing All Aboard collection.

Zoya Nyssa Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hi friends! Happy Friday to you all! I am really looking forward to the week end. Tomorrow night is the annual fundraiser party for my girlie's school. It's a home brew beer tasting cocktail party and one of the most fun events I get to go to every year! Needless to say, I have a spectacular nail polish picked out. Grammy will be keeping the little one all week end as well, so the hubby and I will have some much needed alone time too. Yay for fun week ends, right?!

Today's Color Trend post features another neutral shade - Cognac. Instead of being a softer more pastel neutral, Pantone's Cognac is a warm rich brown with red undertones. Zoya Nyssa, from the fall Entice collection is a very wearable, very flattering version of this earthy neutral.

Zoya Madeline Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hey guys and gals, happy Friday! Who has exciting weekend plans? Mr. APN has a softball game tonight, and then it is a nice boring weekend for us. I love slow weekends, lol!

Today's color trend post is one that I wasn't planning to like. Mauve Mist isn't exactly a color that I am immediately drawn to on it's own. Pairing it with more interesting shades from the Fall/Winter color palette suits my taste more, so I wasn't expecting to really like the color in polish form. Zoya Madeline from the Natural Deux collection changed my mind.

Zoya Veronica Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hey everyone! Happy Halloween! No holiday themed nails from me today. If you missed it, I posted a super cool, edgy look on Tuesday.

Today's Color Trend post is probably my favorite one from the fall palette. Sangria is a rich and vampy cool-toned red. It is fun and modern, yet still maintaining an air of sophistication. Zoya Veronica from the Entice collection is a gorgeous representation of this fun fall hue.

Essie Dress To Kilt Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great week! We are having glorious fall weather here in my part of the world. It is so nice to feel the cool breeze outside. Definitely my favorite time of year!

Today's Color Trend post is all about the ultimate classic color - Red. Pantone's fall palette is filled with vintage hues and Aurora Red is as vintage as it gets. A bright tomato red shade takes a grand departure from the standard Ox blood of the past. Sadly, no polish collection carried that trend into their fall offerings! But the closest one is Dress To Kilt from the Essie fall collection of the same name.

Essie Take It Out Side Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hi friends! With another Friday upon us, I have the next color from the Pantone fall palette, the first neutral and a good one at that!

Aluminum is a nice warm grey taupe with red undertones. It is a bit different than the traditional grey shades prevalent in the fall and winter. Essie Take It Outside from the Dress To Kilt fall collection captures the shade perfectly.

Fall Hued Saran Wrap Mani Plus Tutorial

Hey guys and gals! Hope your week is going well, mine is great so far, but I am ready for the weekend! So at the beginning of September, I was asked by Nailpolis to create a tutorial for their new e-zine. They wanted me to re-create one of my more popular looks, the Saran Wrap mani I did over the summer. I have wanted to do more tutorials lately and this is by far one of my favorite/easy techniques, so naturally I said yes!

Essie Style Cartel Fall/Winter 2014 Color Trend

Hey y'all! I am so exited to kick off this season's Color Trend series. It is one of my favorite things to do on my blog. My intention was to post yesterday, but as always, things didn't quite go as planned, so you all get the post today, whoooo!!

If you recall the Pantone fall color palette (if not, here is the link to the original post), we are starting with Royal Blue and I am head over heels for Essie's Style Cartel from the Dress To Kilt fall collection.

Color Trends For Fall 2014

Hello friends! I didn't forget about you, I promise. I know posting has been sporadic lately and I do apologize. My personal and family life has taken a huge twist this month and it seems to have eaten up all of my blogging mojo. Despite all the changes that are taking place being positive ones, transitioning through everything has been a bit overwhelming and I am definitely feeling it! But I am eager to get back in the swing of things with new fall colors and some really fun stuff to show you all.

This past Tuesday, was the first day of fall and I couldn't be happier with the seasonal change! The fall collections are so good this year! If you are a regular reader, you know that I usually am not a fan of fall and winter collections, they are usually too dark and drab for my taste. Something about the color palette this year has really won me over and I am loving these seasonal hues.

Pacifica Red Red Wine

Hey all! Today I have a polish from the beauty brand Pacifica. I have used their products a few times, and have enjoyed the ones I own. I received one of the new nail polishes in my September Ipsy bag and decided to post it up on the blog.

Side note - I have had my Ipsy subscription for about 6 months now, and I love it. If you are thinking about joining I highly recommend it. I am always really happy with my bags and am able to use at least half of the stuff in it.

Twinsie Tuesday: Accent Nail

Hey all! So I wasn't sure if I was going to make this post today. I have been in a major slump, creatively, and have had nada for inspiration. I had such lofty goals for doing a gradient stamped mani for the Accent Nail theme this week, but when I sat down to do it, all motivation left me. i have been in a rare mood for fall colors (so rare that it has never happened before!) and I decided to do a little fall themed glitter gradient accent nail instead. Not very creative, but it still turned out super pretty!

Essie Cashmere Bathrobe - Fall/Winter Color Trends

Hey friends! It is a cold, dreary, grey Friday, and I have the perfect color for today! It is the last installment of the Fashion Friday Fall/Winter Color Trend edition, and I have a shimmery grey that matches the color of my Texas skies!

Pantone gave us Turbulence, a cool grey with blue undertones, this season. My pick for this shade is Essie's Cashmere Bathrobe.

Please Note: Products shown were purchased by me for my personal use.

Essie - Cashmere Bathrobe

Cashmere Bathrobe is a cool toned grey with a silvery shimmer scattered through out. The shimmer has blue and pink bits as well, though they aren't very noticeable. It reminds me very much of the effect the summer colors from Essie had. Formula was really good, and we all know that Essie can be hit or miss in the formula department. Two coats for full coverage, almost a one coater. Good dry time.

I think this is a perfect winter color. Usually I have a hard time pulling off grey polishes, but this wasn't too bad. I have some holiday nail art planned for it that I think will turn out really pretty. Even though it was released as one of Essie's fall colors, Cashmere Bathrobe is still on some shelves. And I think it is a better pick (as well as The Lace Is On) than a lot of the colors from the winter collection.

Well that wraps up the Fall/Winter colors! I am already scouting out the spring collections and China Glaze is looking amazing! Also, incase you missed it, Pantone announced their color for 2014 - Radiant Orchid. It is a gorgeous color, and I am super duper excited to see all the great polish to come from the Spring/Summer pallet!
