Cozy Skittlette NOTD

Hey friends! Hope you all are doing well and enjoying the holiday season! The last week of November was a hectic blur of food, family, travels and working toward my writing goal of 50k words. I am pleased to say that I accomplished my goal, ending the month with 50,017 words written of my story. I'm not finished with the rough draft, but I am won't be pressed for time as much as I had been. So that means i will be able to post more on the blog!

In fact, I have a nice skittlette to share today. It has been a while since I did something like this and I forgot how much I love doing them.

Oh, hey there! It has been a while! I actually have a post today - with nail polish! I do apologize for the abrupt absence, but I felt the need to step back and focus on other things for a while. I have been working on my novel quite a bit and have hit the half way point to my word count goal! It's very exciting! I have also been doing the mom thing all summer long, full of play dates and park trips and a few excursions to a nice cool watering hole when the Texas heat just gets too much for us. 

I'm not saying that I am back full force yet, but I am saying that I'm not gone for good either. In fact, I actually have some nail art on my digits and i am pretty stoked, you guys! But today's post is the standard swatch/review. Baby steps, right?!

Takko Lacquer Summer 2015 Collection Part 2

Hey guys and gals! Today I have the second part of the new Takko Lacquer summer collection! On Monday, I showed you all the neons and bright of the bunch, and now I have a nude, a pastel and a jelly, oh my!

I also have for review the new Takko Lacquer top coat! Since all takkitos are now infused with Vitamin E, they dry down to a satin finish, and need to be topped with a glossy top coat to bring out the beauty of the polish. Sugar High is a high shine scented top coat give all takkitos that glossy finish!

Matte White & Gold Triangles NOTD

Hey y'all! How is your summer going? We have already had a few summer-time adventures in the two short weeks the kiddo has been out of school. I'm hoping to do some swimming in Barton Creek pool soon. It is one of my favorite things to do!

Today's NOTD is totally summer appropriate and would be a killer pool-side mani. White nails are some what of a classic summer look, but I kinda feel like it's a little too bland for my taste. So I decided to jazz up the white nail with something a little shiny and shimmery. Cause that's how I roll.

Hi friends! So I meant to post this last week, I even had all the pictures edited! But I didn't and then I forgot about until Monday when I was figuring out my post schedule for the week, I realized that it never happened. Oops! Anyway, I have been in a serious skittlette mood as of late and I was craving something that would be perfect for summer! I went with one of my favorite color combos, mint green and gold, added a little bling and a nice textural element and viola!

Hey y'all! Man what a whirl-wind week and weekend this has been! The kiddo was sick again, I finished an amazing book, spent a lovely day with my husband, played with some awesome nail polish, drank copious amounts of coffee, went bowling and tried to take a nap. I feel dizzy just thinking about all of that! I am very much a homebody, so it doesn't take a whole lot to overwhelm me, lol!

Today I have a (sort of) new Takkito to share. Absinthe was launched in December along with several other polishes, but it was mistakenly left out of my swatch package. And since Sheryl is super fantastic and so awesome, she sent it to me along with Heart Shaped Box and a few goodies for Valentine's Day. So now I get to do a proper review of this beauty for you guys!

Twinsie Tuesday: Match Your Nails To Your Purse

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Mine was actually kind of boring, but I got a new book - Red Rising - that totally made the weekend worth it. It is sooooo good! Okay, enough book talk. 

Since today is Tuesday, I have my portion of the Twinsie Tuesday theme post. This week we are matching our nails to our purses. I am not really a "purse" person. I carry one more out of necessity than fashion. In fact, it is a pretty boring purse. But my wallet is way cute and worthy of being the inspiration for some nail art!

Hey guys and gals! Sorry about the lack of posts lately. The little was sick with a head cold last week and I, naturally, quickly caught it! We are both feeling loads better (except for a cough that won't go away) and I felt good enough to do something with my nails, woohoo!

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired By Your Shoes

Hi y’all! How is your week going? Since it is Tuesday, I have this week’s Twinsie post. We are doing manis inspired by our shoes. I am not a shoe person to be honest. I would live in flip flops if I could, lol! But since it is winter, I have stored them in favor of some very sensible, comfy canvas flats from target. I am pretty sure this mani is way more fashionable than they are, lol!

Twinsie Tuesday: Holiday Special

Hey y'all! Today is a special edition of Twinsie Tuesdays. In case you didn't notice, all the Twinsies decided to take a short break over December, as the holidays and family commitments were taking up a majority of our time. But we wanted to do something special to celebrate the holidays with each other and you all, so we decided to do a double mani post honoring the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays.

I, personally, love this idea! While I'm not particularly religious, I believe it is important to recognize all beliefs and traditions. Only when we open our hearts to everyone can we truly begin to understand the notion of love and acceptance. Okay enough soapbox, time for the nail art!

Nail Of The Day: Thankful

Hey y'all! Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends! We are off spending the day with my husband's family in San Antonio. I can pretty much guarantee there will be fantastic food and lots of alcohol, lol! Definitely a great way to spend Thanksgiving!

Today I wanted to share my holiday inspired nails and, more importantly, say thank you to all of you! I sincerely appreciate all of the comments and the interactions I get from you guys. 

My Thanksgiving nails are rather simple. I have been craving more basic designs lately - probably since I don't have a lot of time to devote to the more intricate looks. It seems my fall back method is some sort of gradient and that is what I wen with today!

Hi friends! How are you all doing, this fine Wednesday? I am happy to say that my cold is all but gone and I am feeling great! No stress, no illness for once and it is a welcome change. The last two months have been a roller coaster and my poor blog has really been neglected. But such is life. We all have highs and lows and sometimes our priorities shift. Hello friends! How was your weekend? We had a really nice one, after a glorious cold front blew in Friday night, the weather was fantastic - and for Texas in September, a cold front is a big deal. Yesterday we took the girlie to play Putt Putt for the first time. It was a blast, and no body won! We forgot to take score after the third hole, oops!

Hey guys and gals! How is your Monday going? Well I have a post that will potentially make it awesome, or cause anxiety over the lemmings it will create. Who knows!

Those of us in the polishing world know and obsessively love the amazing indie brand, Takko Lacquer. I have been devout fan since the very beginning and while I don't have all the takkitos, I am rather fond of my little army. To this day, I still reach for a Takko when I want a badass mani. They are all dearly loved.

With this newest release, I am convinced all over again that Sheryl has a gift for creating wearable art. The colors are outstanding and unlike any other Indie brand. So grab a napkin, kids. You will be drooling by then end of the post.

Hello friends! I hope you all are having a fantastic week! I am starting to feel my blogging mojo coming back, so I'm hoping that I will be posting more often. I know every blogger/nail artist goes through creative slumps now and then. So thank you all for still commenting and reading! I will be posting nail art soon!

But before that, I have some awesome Takko freshies ( as my friends Amy McPolish calls them!) to share with you guys! The first one is a brand new shade, called Babycakes, that will be making it's debut in the Takko Lacquer shop on the next restock, June 15th!

Takko Lacquer Babycakes

Babycakes is a dusty rose pink with gold shimmer and a very strong linear holo. I'm not usually a pink fan, though there are a few pink polishes that have managed to win me over. But this one I love! Babycakes is such a feminine and flirty shade with just the right amount of dustyness, not to mention that hella awesome shimmer and holo, it's impossible not to love it! Formula was stellar as well! It is almost a one coater. I did add a second coat to amp up the shimmer and holo, though if you paint with thicker coats, you may only need one.

Once again, I am bananas over the new takkitos and blown away by the superb and consistent formula, as well as the excellent color mixing. It's no wonder the restocks are crazy!

I have one more Takko to share this Friday. Blue Flamingo:MIA has been revamped and it is to die for!!!
